Hi, my name is David. Thanks for stopping by. Take your time, look around, and I hope you enjoy my art. I'm always curious to hear what people think, so please take a moment to drop me a line and say hi!
I have always been an artist. My first creations were creeting cards I made in high school using watercolor paper and sold in hospital gift shops. Later I moved to Los Angeles and pursued art before devoting myself to the design field. When I became disabled, art gave me a path to create a new version of myself. I believe art is healing, and that as Artists, we are powerful Creators.
I paint on many surfaces and use many different materials, but my favorite works are those I create using wood pallets. After I became disabled I had to learn to paint in a whole new way. I slapped paint on wood, then looked deeply to see what I could find there. I try to bring out the details of what I see, and intriguing visualizations often result. What do you see?
Growing up on the autistic spectrum, I always gravitated to details over the big picture. I see detail, all the time, everywhere - and this helps me observe many things that go unseen by others. My art gives me a path to communicate the ideas in my head that I often have trouble finding the words to express. Instead, I use my paintings to show people visually what I think and feel.
